Troubleshooting

Fixes for the problems people actually run into.

Most problems have a quick fix. Find yours below. If it isn't here, get help.

Client not listed

If your Roblox client doesn't show up under Clients, work through these in order:

  1. Start Roblox again. Lynx's emulator loads Lynx as the game starts, every time, and can't be turned off. Close Roblox before you start Lynx, then start it again.
  2. Check for a Roblox update. If Roblox has just updated, see the next section. Downgrade Roblox to the version Lynx supports until the new build is out.
  3. Use the official Roblox Player. The Microsoft Store version (Windows10Universal) isn't supported. Uninstall it and install the latest Roblox Player version that Lynx supports.
  4. Run one Lynx. If Lynx says its client bridge is unavailable, close every other Lynx window and try again.
  5. Close other tools that attach to Roblox. Other executors, FPS unlockers and overlays can keep Lynx from loading.
  6. Restart both. Close Roblox completely, restart Lynx, then rejoin.

Still failing? Lynx keeps logs and crash reports, and the person helping you on Discord may ask for them. Settings → Client → Clear Logs and Clear Crash Reports empty them afterwards.

Roblox updated

This means Roblox has shipped a new client and the matching Lynx build isn't out yet. You can keep using Lynx in the meantime: downgrade Roblox to the version Lynx supports. There's nothing to fix on your side.

  • Lynx currently supports Roblox Couldn't load.
  • A Lifetime license never expires, and time-limited keys are paused until the new build ships.
  • Lynx refreshes its files every time it starts. Restart it once the new build is out.
  • The status page shows the current state and when the last update shipped.
  • Updates are announced on Discord the moment they're live.

Missing runtimes

VCRUNTIME140.dll or MSVCP140.dll was not found
CauseVisual C++ Redistributable
Install the x64 redistributable and restart Lynx.
The Lynx window opens blank or white
CauseWebView2 Runtime
Install WebView2. The Evergreen Bootstrapper is fine.
Error 0xc000007b on launch
CauseDamaged runtimes
Open Installed apps, find both Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributables (x86 and x64) and choose Modify → Repair.

Antivirus quarantine

Lynx works by loading code into another process and changing its memory. Security software watches for exactly that behavior, so some products flag Lynx heuristically, the same way they flag debuggers and game modding tools.

If files disappear from the Lynx folder, or the app won't start after a scan:

  1. Open your antivirus's quarantine or protection history and restore the Lynx files.
  2. Add an exclusion for the folder you keep Lynx in.
  3. Start Lynx again. It downloads the helper files it is missing on startup.

HWID mismatch

Your license is bound to one PC. If you sign in on a different PC, or reinstall Windows or replace major hardware such as the motherboard or boot drive, the sign-in is refused and the Login card shows the reason.

Reset the binding from your dashboard, then sign in again. Resets are self-serve and included with your license. If a reset is refused, support can help.

Scripts don't work

  • Read the output. Most failures print an error with a line number. Turn on Settings → Client → Output Redirection to see them in Lynx, or press F9 in Roblox.
  • Check the function exists. Scripts written for other executors sometimes call non-standard functions. Search these docs with CtrlK. If it isn't here, ask the script's author.
  • Check the game. Scripts that depend on a game's internals break when that game updates. That's the script's problem, not Lynx's, and the author will usually fix it quickly.

Getting help

Tried everything above? We're around.

  • Discord is the fastest way to get help. Staff and experienced users are there most of the day.
  • Status for outages and Roblox updates.

Include your Lynx version, shown next to the wordmark in the title bar, and what you tried. It turns a long back-and-forth into a quick fix.
